Arkema K.K. and Central Glass Co. Ltd. launch distribution agreement for Forane®1233zd foam blowing agents and heat transfer products in Japan
Forane® 1233zd is a highly-effective hydrofluoroolefin (HFO) for use in polyurethane foams and other foams as well for use as a heat transfer fluid in centrifugal chiller applications. It is non-ozone depleting, non-flammable, and has an ultra-low Global Warming Potential (GWP) of 1.
“Arkema and Central Glass each have a deep base of knowledge in fluorochemicals,” said Paul Lavallee, Arkema’s Global Market Manager for Foams. “As Japanese F-Gas regulations and ‘Top Runner Program’ energy efficiency requirements approach, Central Glass and Arkema stand ready to assist customers in making the conversion to the more environmentally friendly Forane® 1233zd option,” Lavallee noted.

The primary goal of the distributor relationship is to utilize Central Glass’ proven infrastructure and broad presence in the Japanese market to more effectively market Arkema’s Forane® 1233zd to a diverse and growing customer base. Commercial quantities and inventories are currently available.
