At the JEC Innovation Award ceremony on March 13, 2019, Arkema received first prize in the "Construction" category for its innovation entailing glass fiber-composite reinforcement for concrete and composite cables for prestressed concrete made with the Elium® resin.
Arkema will inaugurate a new first-class polyester resin manufacturing facility in Navi Mumbai, Maharashtra on February 13, 2019. This new facility also includes a dedicated laboratory to provide both application development and technical support. The facility will help Arkema better serve customers in the fast growing powder coating market throughout India, as well as the Gulf Region and surrounding countries.

An experienced skipper in the Route du Rhum – Destination Guadeloupe race, with three podium places to his credit and now his fourth participation just a few days away, Lalou Roucayrol has been preparing assiduously for this solo transatlantic event due to set off from Saint-Malo (France) on 4 November.

Arkema is expanding in engineering adhesives with the announcement of the acquisition of Afinitica, a Spanish company specializing in instant adhesives, also known as cyanoacrylates. This small targeted acquisition will enable Bostik to develop a solid position in adhesives used in markets with strong growth potential, including electronics and medical equipment, and in many other durable goods manufacturing applications.
With the creation of this new commercial platform, Arkema aims to address the needs of the demanding and innovative 3D printing markets. The new platform will leverage an extensive range of materials dedicated to each of the major 3D printing technologies, a proven expertise, and strategic partnerships with key players in additive manufacturing.
Thus “3D Printing Solutions by Arkema” will support the 3D printing sector as it grows into an industrial manufacturing technology.

On July 2, the global leading specialty chemicals company Arkema held the opening ceremony of its China Research and Development (R&D) Center Phase II at Changshu, Jiangsu. Bostik, the specialty adhesives business line of Arkema, will be the official partner for smart adhesives at the iconic cycling event. Now in its fourth year of sponsorship, Bostik will use the competition to boost brand visibility around the world.
To support the strong worldwide demand in ultra-high performing powders for industrial applications, in particular in the coatings, composite and 3D printing markets, Arkema is to expand its global production capacity at its Mont site (France) by more than 50%. This investment of around €20 M will come on stream in the second half of 2019.

Arkema has announced the proposed acquisition by the Bostik-Nitta joint-venture of the industrial adhesives of Nitta-Gelatin Inc., as well as the construction of a new world-scale adhesives plant in Japan. These operations will enable Bostik to supply its Japanese customers in the buoyant nonwoven markets for hygiene applications and in the packaging, labelling, transportation and electronics industrial markets.
Effective 1st June 2018, Marie-José Donsion is joining Arkema as Group Chief Financial Officer, replacing Thierry Lemonnier who is taking retirement. Marie-José Donsion will also sit on the Executive Committee.

The exclusive partner of Lalou Roucayrol’s Lalou Multi team, Arkema shows off its colors on two distinct circuits, the Multi50 and the Mini 6.50 categories, thanks to innovative and high-performance boats built from materials developed from its own technologies. The Group has now decided to build a new Multi50 to be ready for launch in 2020 and with its sights set on the Route du Rhum 2022.
